Dr Goodfellow Lab Coat

Based on the fictional comic book character Buck Rogers, created in 1928 by author Philip Francis Nolan, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was an American science-fiction adventure series produced by Universal Studios. The series ran for two seasons on NBC between September 1979 and April 1981 and has been aired on numerous occasions in the United Kingdom.


Worn by British actor Wilfrid Hyde-White as Dr Goodfellow this futuristic looking lab coat was seen throughout the second season.

Described as a "classic British film archetype" Wilfrid Hyde-White often portrayed droll and urbane upper-class characters. Born in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire in 1903 he had an extensive stage and screen career in both the United Kingdom and the United States, portraying over 160 film and television roles between 1935 and 1987.


He was twice nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for The Reluctant Debutante (1957) and The Jockey Club Stakes (1973).


Hyde-White died from heart failure at the age of 87 on 6th May 1991 at The Motion Picture Country Home in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
