Since being acquired for this collection in November 2024, this is the first time this costume has been seen in public.
Emma Stone was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA in 1988. During her acting career she has won two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. in 2017 she was the world's highest paid actress and named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
Stone's acting career started as a child in 2000 theatre production of The Wind in The Willows. Since then she has appeared in numerous roles for TV and film as well as playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret on Broadway from November 2014 to February 2015. It was during this run that she met film maker Damien Chazelle who then cast her in his musical comedy-drama La La Land, which served as the opening film at the 2016 Venice Film Festival where it earned Stone the Volpi Cup for Best Actress.
